Bonnet Prop/stay

The bonnet prop on my 2b runs down the centre of the bonnet when stowed. When in use the bottom end rests in the centre of the zetec cam cover. Not very safe, practical or pretty. One of you guys must have a clever Dickie type instal which does the job safely, is easy to get at and looks professional...... Help appreciated

Would a Terry clip help?

 

Or else grab the plastic clip from a production car that holds the bonnet stay.
