Hi, i know you must be sick of this question, but i tried searching and to had much luck.

basically thinking of a Zetec in my 2B, simply is this possible without days of work and expense.

Pinto change cheap and done in a day,

How much and long would it take to sort a Zetec out?

Hopefully a good few days preparing and then max a weekend to fit,

Possible? or am i dreaming and should stick to the modified pinto route?

Thanks.

i'm fitting one now from scratch, it is possible for foing it in the way you want but you would need every last little bit to achieve this otherwise it would take a long time and alot of frustration, i'm having a huge amount of trouble with mine but having a turbo bolted on didn't help either

thanks, thankfully i cant afford a tubo as well :boohoo:

Are you having to move the alternator, starter motor and cooling system to get it to fit?

Also if you dont mind me asking what do you think the cost would be, if i already had an engine and my dad loves to bodge and make stuff so that could cut some costs, i hope.......

if you have the engine and a reasonable bodging (as all hoods) knowledge it can be very cheap to do, it's not always what you know but who? Mine's cost 2 arms and a leg but i'm after ultimate performance, the rad is going in the back, charge cooler in the front, and thats the 3rd decision on those 2 items i've made already so who knows where it will end up. Oh and alternator will be on the exhaust side on a custom bracket

Then you will have to make an idler pulley so as to get the water pump to turn the right way round with sufficient belt going round the pulley to drive it.

Suspect timescale would be many weeks if not months

was on this side when it was fitted to my escort, used fiesta turbo alternator bracket but making a slightly different one this time round as it hung too low, no pulley needed before

Looked into this not long ago, can't afford it at the mo. With a decent setup ie. engine management and throttle bodies plus all other bits like a raceline water rail, modifying pedals etc etc. You gotta allow about £2000 realisticly. Bet it would take a season (ie over winter) to get it done.

Not forgetting new fule pump, FPR, new exhaust (other side to pinto), new flywheel.

Bell housing simply fits onto Type 9 gearbox so that's good.
