Superspec Running Hot

Hi recently changed the coolant in the car because it was running really hot. Now it's still as hot 100 to 120 in normal traffic with a blow and a suck fan. Is this me just worrying as we have just changed from a plumbed temp gauge to the etb one. Cooling has never really been an issue on the car before. Any help really appreciated

How do you know that the new gauge is reading correct?

See if you can get hold of an infer-red temperature gun to see what that says.

Good point. What would be the best way of testing it as it does move slowly through the temp range and will go up and down as I move

Take it for a run and when it gets really hot stop and check top and bottom hose temperatures with the heat gun, with the engine ticking over so the water is still circulating.

If you are going to Stoneleigh I can check the output of the ECU to see what it thinks the temperature is. A bit odd though as most Superspecs have a tendency to run too cool and I am sure when we last chatted (Stoneleigh last year ?), yours was running in the low 70s ? What modifications have you done to the system ?

Yea I will be however I have just found a degraded and leaking radiator pipe so that needs fixing first. If it's not one thing its ten haha
