P Clip Mounting

Has any one worked out a good way of mounting p clips on round pipe? As in I am trying to run the wiring ( and front flexible lines) from the cycle wings into the engine bay of the car, this means clipping it on to the wishbones which are 25mm od round pipe. I was thinking of a large rubber lined p clip on the wishbone which would then hold a smaller p clip which would secure the wiring., I don't want to drill into the wishbones or just cable tie the wiring on!

You are right about not drilling the wishbone.

Two clips might look a bit messy.

Try just using one with the wire protected and running through that p clip.

Should be room without squashing it in the joint part of the clip where the radius meets the straight parts of the joint.

It would look much better than cable ties most people use.

The cable is only a light-weight 2 core I presume? So how about using self-amalgamating tape? Could wrap the full wish-bone run or just enough to hold the cable in place.

I clipped my shiny new front flexi-hoses to the wishbones and failed the MOT - at full lock the hoses could touch the tyre.

 

I took them off and it passed 2nd go - just make sure they are not too twisted.

Put the wiring in convoluted tubing and cable tie it in. Will be fine
