Could someone point me in the right direction. I need a decent fuel filler pipe and seal to the tank. I never fitted it myself and it's a right old bodge. I have a metal locking cap one end and need decent seal the other but they are completely different sizes. Help !!!

Is that the metal cap that RH supplied? If so it normally came with a pipe with a flange to bolt to at the cap end and the other end fitted into the tank using the sierra rubber grommit.

I had to make mine a bit longer as i have a custom tank which sits lower so i welded a piece of tube on (think it is scaffold size). This setup has been fine for 10 years on my car.

For the sender i cut the shaped hole out of the sierra tank and araldite and riveted it to my stainless tank so i can remove the sender in the normal way intended.

Oh also i modded the RH supplied tube as the angle was hard to get the pump nozzle in so i cut a bit out of the inner angle and welded a piece in so there is more space. Also drilled a few holes in the pipe just inside the tank as otherwise you get an airlock at the top of the tank (unless you have a separate air escape.

Might not be relevant to you but I ditched the original set up on my series 7 because it looked like junk. I think it was probably the sierra cap but it came without a key so you had to use a screwdriver to open and it blew back all the time at the petrol station. It came up through the floor and exited through the back panel. Blocked the back panel, put a piece of filler pipe directly on the tank and then a stainless screw on filler cap on the other end. I fill up in the boot but if you are careful there is no spillage and it tidies up the rear of the car. No blow back either. I put a breather pipe on a spare outlet and provided you bring the pipe below the bottom of the tank and then above the top of the tank then fuel can't run out whichever way up the car is. Or you can spend 50 quid on a one way breather valve. The filler hose is a silicone one but the proper stuff with the special lining that resists fuel.
