vacinc, you should warn that the link has questionable content. People following it from work could get into real trouble if the boss sees it on screen (or a colleague see it, is offended, and tells the boss). Believe me, it happens, and people get sacked.

its ok the woman who slapped me had a sense of humor, apparently im a cheeky bar steward lol but i can see how a lesbian might take offence, people that get you sacked for it shouldnt be allowed in a civillised society anyway

Yeah, well, I wasn't actually offended myself, but as a moderator I have to consider a wider audience. I've seen an entire team sacked for swapping dodgy eMail jokes and links before now. Employers nowadays have a legal obligation to take such things seriously, and act against anyone in their employ who doesn't.

 

We might debate whether or not I am applying the moderation rules too strictly. However, the forum rules that I am applying are quite clear on the subject:-

 

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

 

So on the basis of this, vacinc, please consider yourself warned.

Jon i dont want to argue about the rules with you but i do have a suggestion:

Instead of doing away with this sort of material that some people (like myself) find amusing, if it could cause ofence to someone could the topic of the title not say WARNING LIKELY TO OFFEND and then it is up to individual members whether they look at it or not?

I personally find some of these links/jokes funny and would miss them if the were banned from appearing.

Then don't! The rules are created by the webmaster (that's Mat) for the benefit of the community. Moderators like me implement them. Remember that the forum is not run by the owner's club, it's done entirely by Mat, unfunded, as a favour to us all. He wanted to help others in the process of building and running their cars.

 

I would personally like to discourage people from posting so much junk here, as it dilutes the real content - that being talk about all things Robin Hood.

 

If you really want to see pornographic images why not just Google for them? If you want a laugh go look at YouTube.

 

If, on the other hand, you want to know about something that is Robin Hood related, it'll be here. Many people who are happily on the road right now, including myself, probably would not have made it if not for this forum, for the help and advice of others the forum helps facilitate. Littering it with questionable material is not allowed, and I will continue to moderate such posts until Mat asks me to stop.

It wasnt an argument, just a question. However without this site i wouldnt be on the road, i owe alot to the help and advice from other members.
