Cleaning Caliper Paint Off Brush

Recommended Posts

I've bought some Halfords caliper paint which is working fine but I can't seem to clean the brush after use - neither water or white spirit is working.

Any ideas what I should be using? No suggestions on the tin or online.

Edit: found a data sheet - paint mostly contains xylene, if that helps?

I'm old school Chris....cant stand the thought of binning anything.

I still have a Rolls Royce toolbox & some tools that my Pa "liberated"

when he left the RAF.

But where I will find a RR Merlin engine to use them on is anyone's guess.

I think Bob is right but it is cheaper to use pound shop brushes (pack of five) and thro them after use.

+1.

Bob is definately right, I have used it. It also works well with things like Por15, Hammerite, degreasing any parts, cleaning brake parts, cleaning surfaces before painting, or coating.

I buy a 5 litre can at a time about every two years.

You only need to buy the cheapest,,general purpose or reclaimed. We are not talking about mixing paints.

I think I paid around £15 for my last tin.

I get mine from Jayar, or Ajay components on eBay.

This has many many uses. I go through a can in around 2 years.
