Engine With Fr32 Cam

Hi all,

 

Took the car out for a blast today . First time I've really drove it, but I noticed you have to give it a few beans to get it going. Is this normal with the fr32 cam? It's going on the rollers in a weeks time to be set up properly.

Think you will find the carb settings will be need to be changed and possibly more spark advance.

I have a FR32 on my 2.0 pinto. Ticks over nice at 1000, but no power below 2000, but keeps making power to 7000. Below 2000 it can really bog down, so you have to keep the revs in the sweet spot.

Exactly the same as mine Thrashed. Hopefully the rollers will sort it. Thanks for the replies .

Mine has been on the rollers and made the world of difference. Think it start off at 113bhp and finished at just under 160bhp, but the biggest difference was how it delivered the power and the torque.

if you have a standard engine with an fr32 cam fitted and no other mods you will not see any where near 160bhp

Good point Chris. A decent rolling road will make the world of difference and will get the best from what you have.

I don't mind about BHP. I just want it to run nicely so my boy and I can have some fun. My spec though: Fr32. Injection Head. Twin Dellortos 45. Aldon Modded Dizzy. Full engine rebuild. If it comes back running properly I will be happy:)

With a decent exhaust you are looking at 130 bhp give or take.

But you will have a buzzy engine that still has enough torque to

pull easily from low revs with a low weight car.

My FR32 cammed engine pulls as normal from 1000rpm and just keeps pulling

Will go to 7500 if you let it

Suggest cam timing and 3D ignition plus a bit more compression takes the flat spot away
