I've just purchased a finished seven replica I believe it is a 2B it has a Pinto 2 L . I have a chassis number and I don't know whether that will give me any information concerning exactly what year and history of the vehicle, if there is anybody in the Southwest Devon area that I could talk to and can help with information concerning this new project. The intention is to strip and rebuild the car completely over the winter.

I believe the chassis number IS

Kind regards Graham of Devon

Welcome to the wonderful world of Rhocar.

It's difficult to say when it was built but you can track its history through its mots perhaps. It might have originated from the Thames Valley region. Some one on here might recognise it so it's worth posting a picture.

From a security point of view I'd edit your post to omit the chassis number, just in case.

Thanks forgetting back to me, I do have the registration and the V5, I checked the robin hood build video once a five by Ivan Sandford .

From the videos I've worked out I've basically got the same car, as I said I do intend to strip and rebuild and modify some of the running gear on the project.

Do you know of any robin hood owners in the Devon area that I can get in touch with.

Positive identification can be got from here

http://nw.rhocar.org/identification.htm

There are a few variations of the 2B with different front wishbones.

Loads of folk have carried out loads of modifications on the 2B so there will always be help here should you need it.

Well worth the £15 membership

That's exactly what I'm looking for the front wishbones, I will be modifying that part of the car very soon, and I will be joining the club thanks for all your help when I've got some pictures I will put them up, hopefully in the not too distant future I will be able to make it to one of the robin hood gatherings is there a particular magazine that is worth buying ?

There are 3 dedicated magazines that I know of.

Kitcar magazine , Complete Kitcar and Total Kitcar. My preference is Complete kitcar but we will all differ.

The best source of RH related info is on this website. Just search a desired heading or keyword and start reading.

If you have the double wishbone 2B there is a top hat mod which improves the geometry and handling, if you have the sliding pillar there are mods out there or a rework to double wishbone. All the information is s click away.

Hopefully picking the car up in the next couple of days, once I get it home go through it and give it a few checks, if the weather holds out give it a shake them then work out where to start, looking forward to the journey plus coming to a meeting at some point I have family in Northampton so when I hear of a meeting I'll try and combine the two.
