I have heard that a car failed its SVA because the Sump was to close to the chassie!

Is this true?

If so what are the regulations with regard to this?

Thanks Lee

Some time ago I read on the old RHOCAR site that someone had failed SVA because the starter motor was too close to the passenger footwell. Sometimes the engine can rock from side to side and knock on the sidewall. I think about a finger thickness clear will be ok ( about 12mm ) more if you have fat fingers.

Regards

Fred
