Day Two;

After breakfast we'll head from Falkirk to Crianlarich via Dukes pass on to Kinlochleven, Fort William and finally to Dornie where we'll spend the night in a B&B.

Depending on how time goes we can take a boat trip over Loch Ness from Fort Augustus or ride the cable car up Glencoe mountain.

Lunch around Kinlochleven/Glencoe and supper in Dornie.

Day Three;

After breakfast head for Eilean Donan Castle then to Applecross pass, Torridon, Kinlochewe, Achnasheen and finally to Inverness East Premier Inn for the night.

Lunch most likely at Applecross Inn, evening meal in Inverness.

Least daily miles of the trip but on slower single track roads with great views so no plans other than taking in the scenery.

Day Four;

After breakfast we'll head for Tomintoul, Braemar, Blairgowrie and finally back to Dunfermline for the night.

No trip to Scotland would be complete without a visit to a distillery;

Day Five;

Head for home ;o(

I've chosen Premier Inn's mostly because they are cheap, clean and tidy, have hot showers and pubs attached for evening meals and can be booked online.

I am no tour operator and any interested parties should book their own accommodation.

Can't make these dates as can't get the time off work.

Now its B&B you won't need the haulage and I'd be holding you up anyway.

Enjoy your blat North Boys. :drinks:

Nice route ... must get around to sorting out some wet weather gear before considering it though...

Questions;

What sort of speed do you run at/order of play - is it essentially a convoy, or happy for people to leave/re-join then meet up with the group in the evening/next logical stop as required, make their own way etc?

I completely get the group journey - also like to escape/dawdle now and again if that makes sense?

Totally up to the individual, we drive fairly normally with not too much crazy-most of us have kids and its over 1000 miles.

With regard to people stopping for a fag/photo/stroll/picnic etc etc that is again up to the individual, I picked out the best roads to see the best bits of the highlands within the timescale.

Leaving/joining the group is not a problem for me, I've posted the routes so others can tag along or set the seed for their own trip.

My kit has no weather protection whatsoever except for a small aero screen.

Edit: Accommodation is also up to the individual (I'm aware not everyone likes budget hotels).

The pack as such can always come together if a roadside rescue is required to pool our spares.
