Mine passed SVA way back with a square plate space and I have had a square plate all the time I have been driving it. I believe you can have a square plate if there is not a place to fit an oblong one. Example is many dual purpose vehicles which carry their spare wheel on the back door.

Yes... Should be fine, however do not fit any plate holders, as VOSA in their wisdom decided that their template does not have radius corners, which means 99% of plate holders will fail. Best bet is leave a sufficient blank space and Alll is good

Simple thing to do is remove the spare wheel & threaded rods protruding from the rear panel.

Using hot melt glue, fix the number plate light over the holes in the back panel. (Great idea Phil)

Went straight through IVA & number plate lamp is easily removed afterwards allowing it to be positioned to suit.

Oh, and you can re-fit the spare
