  • Welcome to RHOCaR - The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year.
The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Kimbolton Country Fayre and Classic Car Show

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

This will be held at Kimbolton Castle (PE28 0EA) on Sunday 14th July.   This is a regular show and attracts a huge number of cars (They are estimating 1200+ this year).   It is also a full day out with stalls, arena events, food and drink etc.

The Club has been allocated a space for 15 cars, which is normally around the number we get.   The organiser has told me we can apply for early bird tickets using the code KCFCCS24  at www.kimboltoncountryfayre.org/tickets although I'm not sure how we benefit from that as it seems this option is open to everyone.

Location of our pitch will be issued nearer the day.   See https://kimboltoncountryfayre.com/  for more details.

    By richyb66,

Next Wednesday 28th, 6pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL.

Generally they're trying to kick us out just after 930pm so if you're coming, don't leave it too late. Also, if you want to eat, book beforehand as they don't normally let people just rock up and eat.

Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island.

    Everyone welcome. See you there

    Club Magazine (Kits & Bits)

    Foz
    By Foz,

As you may have read in the latest magazine, we have been looking into alternative methods of distributing the magazine.  The cost of hard copies of the magazine is steadily increasing but we can potentially save a few quid, and possibly become a little more environmentally friendly, by distributing copies of the magazine electronically.

If you are happy to receive a "pdf" copy of the magazine electronically, could you please message our membership secretary (Forum name alanrichey) so he can note it on the member database and future magazines will then be sent directly to your email address.

I know that some of you will prefer a paper copy and that's fine - we will continue producing hard copies for the foreseeable future, for any members who don't want to go electronic.

If you have any questions or comments let me know.

    Thanks,  Steve

New web page dedicated to the Exmo

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

We now welcome the Exmo to the 'Useful Sites' list of dedicated pages for each model, joining the Superspec, Series III/IIIA and 2B/2b+.

I'm grateful to Jan (sparepart) for the work he has done in setting up this page as he continues to add more information.   If any other Exmo owner feels they can contribute please contact him.

Meanwhile I am still waiting for a volunteer to do pages for the Series 6, Series 7 and LIghweight.   Any one ?

    Cheers

    Posting questions on the forum

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

    Hi everyone

We have always encouraged members and guests to ask questions on the forum, and invariably several members will offer suggestions.   However I have recently seen aome questions that I happen to know have already been answered.   It really is good practice in any support forum to do some research before you post a question.

Under "Useful Sites" on the blue banner you will find specific pages for 2B, Series III/IIIa and Superspec models  that cover known problems (The Exmo page is under construction and I am still waiting for volunteers to buile pages fopr the Lightweight, GBS Zero or any other models).

Also the Search tool is very powerful tool, but you have to use it properly.  For example, when I was worried about my clutch rattle I did a search for Superspec clutch. I get 6000 hits, which is no help at all.  The reason, of course, is that it is looking for any post containing the word Superspec or the word Clutch .  But when I seached for "Superspec Clutch" (enclosed in quotes)  I got only 23 hits which were easier to read in full.  As it happened, they solving my problem.

    Hope that helps
