Rolling Road

Thrashed

Recommended Posts

Well the car survived the rolling road😅. Thanks to Steve Walford Motorsport in Northfield. Only issue that cropped up was the fuel pump can't deliver enough fuel at the top end, so was holding it back. New fuel pump to be ordered and then back to finish off. Over the moon with the results.

Sorry. In all the excitement I knew the figures!

First run when it tried to jump out the rollers was 155bhp and 155 torque. 2nd run was 167bhp and 153 torque but the graph was showing a very obvious fuel drop at about 5500rpm. I run zX6r carbs and originally was 1.3 jet, drilled out to 1.4. Might need a bit more once new fuel pump is in and should get a few more bhp and torque. Will keep you posted

What pump was on there? Jet size is interesting

The jet sizes you are right. I though I had 1.6 last time? turned out to be 1.3 and drilled them to 1.4. They might end up a bit bigger but Steve said that at the moment it is getting the right amount of fuel when the float bowls are full.

Will keep you posted on jet sizes once it is all sorted.

I recently drilled my jets to 1.6 from 1.5 have noticed more midrange power

That's interesting as at 1.4 the max torque was coming in at about 4500rpm, but power dropped off at about 5500rpm due to the fuel.

I am running a Pinto-saurous, so might be different to a zetec in terms of where it makes the power?
