Repair & paint as best you can, if it notices it just makes a talking point at the pub.  It was caused ( in part ) By USING your car.

I think it was Sir Stirling Moss who said to be fast first you need to be smooth ---- I.m still practising being smooth.

#379049 Inside Bentley Tonight 9Pm Ch4

We watched it & all along thought " Why??"  The cars didn't appeal to us -- comfortable transport is lovely -- but umpteen cows & trees to make it look pretty -- no thanks.

I would still like to own a Tesla though.

#378910 Mot Question

Posted by florin metal works on 14 December 2017 - 01:53 PM

Florin has a surrey & half doors so still fairly open & the demist does work when all heater output is blown onto 'screen.   Horses for coarses I suppose Chris, just don't run into the back of me & say " Sorry mate ,didn't see you."

#378846 Viewing Rhocar From Android Device Problems?

Posted by florin metal works on 10 December 2017 - 07:29 PM

After Brexit Paul,  all back to proper money & weights & measures --- when your back yard is measured in feet & inches --- no body says its in the back metre or 914 mm.

Aviation is still in hundreds of feet no matter where in the world you fly ---

#378804 Steering Rack In Need Of Replacement?

Posted by florin metal works on 05 December 2017 - 10:57 PM

Are you sure the play is in the rack & not the column -- our MOT advisory pointed to a u/j in the shaft that was worn, probably due to heat soak when welded to lengthen.

#378331 Welding Stainless Steel

Posted by florin metal works on 11 November 2017 - 02:21 PM

That "weld" is just material laid on top of the crack, doing no good at all.  Have welded s/steel on Florin ( diff mounting ) & so far so good as not a trained welder.  If you have mig equipment have a go --- s/steel wire & argon gas does the job.  May not end up pretty but if you get more penetration than the last guy it will be a whole lot better, an extra piece of stainless welded over the top would make it belt & braces.

Have loads of s/steel off-cuts in stock, shout if required.

#378311 10.2 Volt Battery

Posted by florin metal works on 09 November 2017 - 11:54 PM

But is that enough to cause the problems even the radio only just lights up

Valves take a lot of current to heat the emitter!! :aggressive:  :80:

Thanks to all who wished me well for my 71st birthday, it went well & now I'm back home & ready to cut the grass AGAIN before we head off for another week-end away.
