Mt 75 Gear Linkage

The Ford MT75 Gearbox comes with a rubber mounted heavy duty frame carrying the gear lever swivel.

Initially I "adjusted" the framework to make it a lot narrower and ran it on the back of the box. A bit of cutting and welding was required, but it fitted.

The swivel sat about 2 inches below the tunnel tubes. It vibrated a lot---as much as in the standard car, I guess.-- and had a very long throw. Quick shift - not. ------- also it was not quite in the right place.

To get the reverse lift up mechanism to work meant a lot of modification to the orignal stick.

My Solution:-

Throw away the frame.

Solid mount the swivel on a plate and place it where I desired on top of the tubes.

Throw away the original long gear lever and just using the base part of the rod lift mechanism, fit the gear knob staright on.

Shorten the swivel to gearbox arm. 4 years of use -no problem.

Pictures attached.
