  3. Yesterday
  4. I’m in benfleet. Near Southend Essex.
  5. Where are you, Paul? I'm in Reigate... I'm the area sec for the SE but it's been hard to get anyone out - we had a couple of meets last year but even then, I was the only one with a working kit . The weather is improving, so I'll try arrange something soon...
  6. I think at next month's meet we should discuss a change of venue for future meets. The Malt Shovel has been on its arse for a while and it's no good having meets in Summer when they want to kick us out at 9.
  7. The pub is shutting at 8pm tonight due to a road closure. If you haven't left yet, don't bother.
  8. Having a clear out and found my spare pair of top suspension arms that I kept for my 3A. Does anyone want these before they go to the tip? They are FREE but must be collected from Aldridge, West Midlands. Sorry but I will not post.
  9. Thanks for the offer. Can you liase with Christopher (sparepart) ? I'm sure he would be grateful for any contribution.
  10. As an ex-batch 2 buyer, gets my thumbs up too! Not a criticism, but there's plenty to add/flesh out, and I'm happy to contribute if necessary...
  11. hi so having acquired my first kitcar. its a robinhood s7 dolomite based which i am in the process of recommissioning. not much left to do just a bit of fettling with the carbs mainly. is there any way of getting hold of an original build manual id like to be able to refer to a few bits to see the build process. Also seems a lot more goes on up country are there any gatherings around the southeast at all paul
  12. Last week
  13. Hi. I know that there is a Wats App for Minari owners, just wondering if there are any other chaps or girls on here that may have one. cheers Dave
  14. Are you sure you called the right place - not GBS, GBC: https://www.facebook.com/GBC.Autos.Tamworth/?locale=en_GB
  15. I just Call Snodhuurst service station and they dont do kit cars any more GBS is full... its hard to find someone that cat help me out. an more ? Someone? thanks
  16. Is it already registered in Poland, it has Polish plates, can you not bring it in via Nova?
  17. yes i know what your saying about the IVA and already have a list. I contacted GBC and they are full... Im trying other garages
  18. Why on earth would you do that? Most people convert TO FI, not the other way round Sounds to me like you're not running on all cylinders ( I mean the engine but I'm not sure about you either ). Check you're getting a spark to all cylinders? And carb setup but I know nothing about carbs...
  19. Do you know roughly what needs doing? Could it be driven to an IVA test? Might be worth taking it, failing but getting a list of fail points so you can show it to someone and they can quote you to fix it. An IVA retest is only £95. Richy on here runs a garage called GBC (?) Autos in Tadworth. Give him a list and he should be able to give you a quote.
  20. Been having a few issues with rear brake drums over last few weeks. disassemble them all to find someone had used a screw on handbrake adjustment. It was on side that was leaking too. Drivers side was leaking passenger side was all fine. managed to find 2nd hand pair in south of Sheffield so wasn’t too bad. Had to clean the handbrake adjustment bracket up and little bit now moving all smoothly etc . While I was there I cleaned rear drums all up and rusted treated them and also painted them. Pictures will follow later this week. Got all new parts from Burton power so just got to install them. started few other jobs which post about very soon. done this post on my phone so see how it looks etc if goes alright I’ll post more off phone as always got with me instead of pc at work lol.

    First MOT Question

Thank You. TBH That was what I was expecting, I suspected there is no link between the DSA V5C system & the VOSA MOT system, so when presented for it's first MOT it then starts the clock ticking. Bit like if you present it for a MOT on the VIN number prior to IVA it doesn't then get the 36 months to first MOT, it has to be done after 12 months.
  22. In a word, no. If you present it early for the first MOT and it passes, the second MOT will be due 12 months from that date. It's only at the second MOT that you can present it early and still maintain the actual due date

    First MOT Question

What was the first date of registration on the V5C?

    First MOT Question

Yes I know that, but this is the first MOT, it is currently not on the MOT database https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ hence the question.

    First MOT Question

I always put mine in before the date just in case it needs some fettling and have no problems with the dates, MOT is always dated from the expiry date.

    First MOT Question

I took my tin top in for it's first MOT a couple of days before the end of August and the expiry date shows as 31st August so I would think you should be OK taking it early.
