I'm looking for help and suggestions regarding exhaust paint My exhausts are painted steel and obviously any standard paint blisters and burns off leaving bare steel which starts to surface rust spoiling the look of the car Can anybody help regarding an appropriate black paint that would work Alan

Hi All One of the jobs I've got left to do is to put some sort of boot into my 2B, and I'm looking for advice. I've got a Chris Gibbons plastic fuel tank sitting at the rear of the car, so I should have quite a lot of boot space, but I'm trying to work out the best way to panel it out, as I have the lowest part of the boot above the diff, a higher part above the fuel tank, and further complications around the filler cap. I've considered making it from some sort of frame (maybe small angle iron) and then "hanging" this frame down from the top chassis members. This would give me a skeleton which I can then clothe with plywood panels. Heavier (cause of the metal …

Hi All any one going for there test make sure the seat belt bolts (top one behind the shoulders) are high tensile. I went for my test today and it was one of the things he picked up. Easy replaced but anoying when they are supplied with kit and have to fit inside a tube had to order some from my local supplier as he didnt stock the fine metric thread. Mitch

Can anyone out there offer any advice please, I'm struggling with the windscreen assemble its on a 3a. It concerns the part where you have to drill trough the top part of the frame missing the glass and then through the bottom and secure the 2 pieces together with a self tapper, I have managed to drill through without smashing the screen.(although there was a grinding noise as the drill brushed glass !!),...phew......but the angle (approx 45 degrees) means that there is no way ,( that I can see) of counter sinking the head of the screw so that it is flush and sva Friendly, there just isn't enough material in the frame, so far I have only done one side but the other si…

During a dashboard re-furb, I stripped of the original Sierra plastic cowling that covered the various switch-gear and wiring. Now, I want to tidy it up by fitting something like a flexible gear-lever gaiter. Has anyone got experience or ideas about this?

Hi guys I temporarily haven't got access to my (Tiger-building) mate's SVA manual, and in any case am considering getting the latest edition. Somewhere on the various sites recently I saw a reference to SVA requirements regarding fixings, i.e. bolts must have a nyloc nut on the other end, or slotted nut and splitpin, or if no nut on must have a spring or shakeproof washer (e.g. diff mounting bolts). I've scoured the sites, but can't remember the topic. Help? Pete(Oldgit)

Hi all How many have been for the SVA with m/c indicators on, and how many have failed/passed with the incorrect distance from the edge of the car? Fitted some long armed m/c indicators and they stick out just as far as the drain pipes supplied with the kit, but not as far as they should be. any advice as SVA is looming closer. Mitch
