Hi folks. I decided that my Exmo needs doors for when it's cold or wet. And since I could not find any doors that fit my expectations, I decided to build them myself. I created a simple aluminum frame and put 2mm plexi glas on it instead of a soft cover. And while the ready made doors slope forward at the rear end, my doors slope backwards from the lower start of the rear fender, ending just a few inches short of the top edge of the roll bar where my doors get fastened. Maybe a little heavier overall (2.3 kg/door), but they are sturdy enough to not shake when driving and they keep the icy wind out when I drive my seven on sunny days in winter at near freezing temeratur…

Evening all, I'm very new to this kit car stuff, however, I have just bought a Robin Hood 2B and looking forward to some fun miles this summer, if we get such a thing ! I don't have a garage, well not one that's not full of motorcycles, so have a couple of options, take heated storage here, where I live, but I just know that will be expensive, or buy a weather wrap, which would allow me to keep the car in my drive, ready for a quick take off, if the sun comes out ? Anybody here got any recomendations on what to get ? I can't be the only kit car owner in Scotland who does'nt have garage space ? Cheers guys ...

Hello to all you hoodies! I’m not sure if I’ve chosen correctly by posting this in fitting and bodywork, but this is the closest match I can think of… I previously posted about the potential that my fuel filler neck arrangement is allowing a slight leak causing a strong smell of petrol. Well… I just stopped off to fill up with fuel (annoyingly on my way to my MOT) only to come back out after paying to find that quite a lot of petrol was pissing out underneath the car. It slowed and then stopped doing so after a short amount of time which suggests that the leak was high up. I checked in my boot area and there was a little wetness, but not as much as I would expect con…

I have these old cowlings that have been altered but may be useful to someone before I throw them. The bottom one has only a triangle missing from by the indicator cutout. The top one has been severely shortened. £25 uk posted or pickup near Chichester.

Just a quick question can I use M4 screws with max strength thread locker to fix cable tie saddles to the chassis or do I need to use pop rivets for the IVA? Reason I am asking is that if you have to remove a rivet the back of it just drops in to the chassis and it just rattles with no way to get it out so for that reason I don’t like to use rivets.

Has anyone painted their own car with something like this? I know about wrapping - tried that, never again! I was prompted by the Overdrive video that Rich was involved in - looks like a pretty decent job for a low ish price? I'm guessing it depends on the preparation more than the equipment but would cheap kit like this be good enough? I'm not expecting a pro finish but my ally panels are starting to look a bit naff and I fancy a solid colour. Thoughts?

Hi guys, this is my first post as I've just recently joined. My friend and I are currently building an mnr vortx with mx5 running gear which we bought as a half finished project. The problem we have is with the brakes, we have the big brake kit from a mk2.5, when we fitted everything and bled the brakes through thoroughly the brake pedal will go to the floor the first press, after that you get a good pedal , we have checked for leaks everywhere but can't find anything, we have adjusted up the Allen bolt at the back of the rear calipers for the handbrake as well and it has us stumped, any ideas guys? Regards Scott and Maz

I have been meaning to do this for some time on my S3, the problem is that I have Cobra seats with the seatbelts going over a crossbar on the roll bar and through the seats but mounting on the rear of the car meaning I need 2 pockets for the seats and some strategically placed cutouts and zips or Velcro, clearly this is way beyond my skills. where do I go? Who can help?

Have just got back to the project ( wide body gbs zero ) and have this morning been checking whether the Ecu is working and it is supplying the fuel pumps so I think the car will start when I supply some fuel . my question is for when I have purged the fuel lines and come to start the car . I have fitted the Ecu to the fire wall behind the dashboard and found it quite fiddle getting access to it to fit the wiring plug . Is this the best lace for it and does it have a basic map on it to get the car started and then fine tuning is made later ?
