My bonnet is the old lift off type. I'm finding that when trying to secure it with the standard iva bonnet catches it wants to spring off - not a great look I'm sure all will agree. Did anyone have an IVA compliant method of securing this type of bonnet? I'm thinking of fabricating some kind of brackets, and then bolting through, but I wanted to find if anyone has any good ideas before I commit

  2. Hiya, I am new to the forum. I have a mostly finished 2B that just needs fittings and final touches done to get through the IVA. I Wouldn't mind paying to get it done properly and pass first time. Is anyone able to do it for a reasonable sum of money? EDIT: I am based in Corringham (Essex) Thank you in advance 🙂

Evening all, my GBS zero has a quite small steering wheel (circa 280mm) and I'd like to try a larger one. However the PCD of the steering wheel appears to be 101mm (6 bolt) , and pretty much all new steering wheels are 70mm so I can't find many to choose from. Is 101mm an old standard? I'm pretty sure my car has a sierra column, so am I best of getting a new boss for the that fits 70mm wheels?

Having slave fitted my seats at last I find that the seat belt positions I have need to be moved back. My question is can I make a plate which utilises the current belt fixing point and is fixed to the strengthened floor so that it does not rotate to recreate the fixing point further back. Steve D

I have made a subframe as per photo to fix my seats to the floor plate. Would it be a good idea to weld the runners to the 10mm thick bars or should the 8 mm bolts into tapped holes in the bars be sufficient. Your views would be appreciated Steve D

I would like some advise or direction on finding a replacement please 🤞. The diameter is 105mm

Hi, Currently trying to finish a 2B that I started 7 years ago. I am at the point of fitting the side panels, however the floor pan seems to have a bent over tab as well as being about 10mm sicking out all along the tube that the bottom of the side panel fits too. I believe the tabs are cut off? and bent back flat ? Is this cortrect? Also I cant find anywhere that tells me if I should be banging the overhand upwards to warap it around the tube frame or leave it as it is so that the side panel follows it? Also I have seen some information about additional supports under the car for the seats. I just have the floor pan to bolt through so there must be…

Does anyone have a picture of the plug in connecter showing the actual wire colouring. The motor I have was supplied without a connector and I am unable to source one. i am trying use individual spade connectors but I am struggling to identify which colour wire fits onto which pin.

Has anyone made a glove box? I have the standard GBS fibreglass dash and I'd like to use the space on the left for a small glove box. I'm imagining that I cut out a piece of the GRP and then fit some sort of hinge at the bottom, lock/latch at the top and the main body maybe just fabric-covered card or something? The trickiest bit I can imagine is how to attach the hinge and lock onto GRP - is there a standard technique for bonding metal to GRP? Any ideas/suggestions greatly received.

Purchased a bush kit from kit spares, can anyone advise me on how to fit, i really don’t know how it passed the IVA test, I took the column out and there’s not the plastic parts I got from kitspares just the rubber bush, that’s why I have no idea of how it goes back together, spent most of the summer getting the car road worthy, the amount of loose bolts I’ve found is a joke, all advice welcome

Hi all, I have a new series 3 Robin Hood. It has slight front end damage I was going to fix it but I’ve found a brand new monocoque so I’m going to transfer it all. The new monocoque has come with lots of extra stainless steel cut outs. I’m just wondering if anyone has any idea or a build manual for one. Cheers Luke
