Hi, Need a little help? I am building a Robin Hood 2b and am wandering how you fix a four point seat harness. I seem to be ok with rear and side, but do not know how to fix mount nearest center, ie around drive shaft column. I have a couple of 1/8th bars spanning the floor for seat fixings. Thanks, Peter.

In my travels across the internet I've seen one 7 style car wirh square headlights, and been unable to find them since. It looked really good. Ideally should be road legal-ish with indicators built in, but i'd settle for dual beam. Ive found the occasional chopper style motorcycle headlamp (not dual beam) and truck headlamp, but nothing perfect yet. Does anyone here have any ideas or links they can share?

Has anyone used the kitspares front wing brackets and know which side the one with the notch fits? Also is there rules on positioning of the arch over the wheel in terms of forwards or backwards. I assume part of it is pedestrian safety, so enough of the front of the wheel has to be covered?

My quick release RaceTech Steering Wheel has decided to stop releasing (either quickly or at all!). The flange is moving freely but the wheel feels like it’s welded to the steering column. Any tips/ tricks based on experience would be very welcome. Apart from anything else it makes getting in and out with the roof and doors on more like an intensive Yoga workout than I’m happy with….🤪

Hey guys looking for some advice I'm battling away in the garage trying to get the car ready for next year ( Going to be the wedding car ) why I dropped myself into it I don't know lol. Anyhow the other night I have paired the nose one to the bonnet pretty successfully too. When it comes to the dash end it almost seems like the bonnet is just too wide. The sides won't follow the dash tube as the top would be circular and if the tops flat the sides pop out and to top it off I purchased a grp dash from gbs for the Robin Hood and it just doesn't look like it has enough meat on it to do anything with. Any help/advice would be much appreciated or pics of how others had / …

I'm finally getting somewhere with my build (had the car over 6 years, but other projects have always got in the way). I have loads of questions but addressing one at a time. I am fitting a windscreen (I know people will say it's easier to fit post IVA) but I already have the heater, wipers & screen washers fitted (I've also got a correctly marked screen) so there is nothing stopping me fitting the screen but when it comes to the support brackets they are just 3mm steel, so what have people done regarding the edges as at 3mm thick it doesn't allow a 2.5 mm rad on each side & it's not really possible to fit edging trim? Bit of a long winded way of saying 'what hav…

Has anyone purchased a vinyl boot cover kit and where did you buy it from? I’ve seen quite a few very good home made covers with lockable lids but not sure if that’s what I want. Thanks

Anyone know what type the self-tappers are, that GBS supply with their windscreens? I ordered s/steel, A2 (?) type off eBay and the first one snapped off as soon as I tried to get it into the frame 😡 I would call GBS but I just need something quick before a run this Sunday.

1) does an existing vehicle with a complete body kit make it a kit car that can be insured by a kit car insurance company? 2) is fiberglass the best material to make custom panels? 3)is a kit car recommended as a first car for a student? 4) downsides to a kit car? 5) is there any type of safety test, or special test required for new kit cars? And must they follow the same rules as manufacturers within reason? 5) what should I expect to pay in insurance being an 18 year old male with no experience of driving/owning a car but a full license? Finally, could I buy for example an old boxster, and strip down the chassis and add an entire…

Im at the stage of fitting my bonnet however when I place it on the car and push it back as far as it can go because the underside lip hits the horizontal bar thats the top of the dash and the nose cone hits the front of the car, there is still a gap above where the dash attaches of about 2 inches on the left and 3 on the right. Its as if it needs to go back further, Any advice? Ill try and get a picture

I’ve sat the bonnet on my 2B with the lower edge of the bonnet resting along both sides of the chassis side tubes. The firewalls are sitting in place, but there is a 2 1/2” gap along the top of the firewalls to the bonnet. Did anyone else have this problem with their kit? Any ideas/solutions appreciated!!!

At last I have the windscreen fitted on the Exmo, and have just managed to mount the Sierra wiper mechanism which I have modified as per the build video. I have made shorted arms and blades, so far so good. I put it all together and set the motor going. No bangs or crashes, so the clearences are okay. However, it's obvious that the sweep is not good enough. On the driver's side it is just about 90 degrees, i.e just 45 degrees each side of vertical, this might just be ok to see through on a wet day, but then the park position leaves the wiper well up the screen. I have searched through the forums and unsurprisingly this topic has already come up before. I quote the ones th…

Having a right job finding a supplier to do windscreens for an S7. I have the frame. but no glass. I'd like to get teh windscreen done as part of the test, as I'll be wanting a screen anyway, just seems to make sense, although am considering leaving it till after. Either way I'm having a job with suppliers. Brum mentioned SHX Screens in Norwich, but I'm having a job contacting them - does anyone know whether they are still operational, and whether they still are using the same contacts? Does anyone else have a sound responsive (cheap!) supplier, or have an S7 screen floating about?

Responding to Shaun in the wanted ads, I dug out some hoods that I had acquired at some stage. The question, is what are they from? Did they ever come pre-fitted with fasteners at some stage? They are better quality than the ones from my old S7 which were supplied unadulterated, but I have no real idea what they would fit.

I posted the other day about weather gear, and got lots of helpfull tips, so thanks for that. Todays question, - the bonnet on my Robin Hood, lifts from the front, and angles up to about 30 degrees, and a support rod dropping down onto the rocker cover holds it in place. Looking at videos on You Tube, I see a lot of Robin Hoods with the bonnet assembly lifted completely free from the car. Is this just a model difference, or is it an upgrade ? Any info, much appreciated, Cheers Iain.
