I have a 2.0 pinto with twin Weber 40 dcoe and have a facet cube fueL pump. I hate the noise from it. Is there another low pressure fuel Pump that is quite running that anyone can recommend. On another point dose the fuel pump need to be very close to the fuel tank? regards Tony

Hello, I am new on this forum, i live in the Netherlands am rebuilding my westfield se '92 pure for trackdays. I have a 2.0 zetec blacktop engine in the car (engine is oem spec besides a lighter flywheel and ARP bolts) I have zx6r carbs with a megajolt system on it. I bought this kit from chester sportscars 5 years ago. Last week I spoke to a car tuner because i would like to have rolling road sesion to look for more power. I don't know how much i've got now. However the man told me that bike carbs are not good for this engine and i really needed some 45 weber DCOE's. Putting bike carbs on this engine is like COPD he said... I am struggling to belie…

I know this maybe a stupid question as lowered sumps are not all the same. Just want to know what would be the estimated oil quantity for a 205 pinto?

I have been carrying around a 5l fuel can just in case I run out. I thought there has to be a better solution for this. Today I have added a 10l reserve tank. This is no higher than the existing tank so no loss of boot room. Two solenoid valves will dictate which tank will be used via switches in the cockpit!

I am looking to fit a facet posiflow (60104), spec says they will lift 12" to self prime and l know they push rather than pull so need to be near the tank. I was thinking to fit it near the diff, the 2B tank is 10" tall plus a bit for pipe exiting so lift should be in spec. Anyone else fitted these in that location, did it work ok? Will they work with filter king reg downstream? Engine is 2l pinto on dgav, 118 at wheels on RR. TIA, Bri

Help needed starter motor will not disengage On the bench the starter works as it should. In the car it keeps turning with the key removed. The 12v is only on when the key is in the start position. If I remove the main 12v direct to the battery the starter motor sops and when the wire is put back on it dose not turn the engine “normal until I try and start again then starter mot dose not disengage

Hi has anyone fitted a 1.6 pinto with Webber 45s successfully? running standard carb at the moment but have been offered some 45s that were on an RS2000 about 30 years ago but there are in great condition? I’ve never worked on a car engines much before. More four and 2 stroke bikes so not that well informed on the subject. what sort of power would you expect if 45s were installed?

Cutting a long story short. I had the cylinder head off to replace stem seals and lap. All back together and the car ran like a dream. No more smoke and smooth running. Did about 20 miles. Filled up with fuel and she began to run rough. Good on throttle with occational mis but no idle at all and lots of popping on the overrun. Suspected fuel issue. Cleaned jets, checked float etc. Still no idle. Although timing had been checked I decided to give the dizzy a little turn while it was running and I was holding the throttle open. Huge backfire through the carb ( a reminder to everybody to always keep your face away from the top of an open carb!!) Hey presto..prob…

So I started doing a compression test on my 2l pinto. I noticed that cylinder 2 was slightly down on compression and on advice dropped a little oil in and sure enough the pressure reading increased. It’s not starting comfortably now although just about got there in the end. Dumb question, would that be because of the oil in the cylinder? Is that a good or bad thing to do?

I got my block back from the machine shop, I purchased oversized pistons 91.209mm. The machine shop supplied me with new piston rings which were 90.80mm + 1mm This were too big? Looking online I can see 90.80mm + 0.50mm = 91.3mm. My pistons are 91.209mm which means the +0.5mm rings will be 0.091mm too big. Is this small amount of tolerance acceptable?
