If it is any help on my SVA I put the max power output as being 4000rpm (had the same set up as you). Come the test "Can you rev the engine to 3000rpm sir?" Bob is your uncle. 98 dBs. No baffle, no wire wool.

 

Now I am not saying that lying is a good thing cause it's not and I don't condone what I did but I had played with the timing so the max power was lower down the rev range

 

Tis worth a thought for those how are filling out the forms.

thanx again for all your help. ive moved the test to tuesday as something croped up on friday. i think ill try and get a db reader from mapplins. my dad would find it usefull to make a note of how noisy the people next door are being! (no, he doesnt have anything beter to do)
