OK just tube then, Sir. There is 60mm of play to take up with something, and it has to be adjustable.

Which year and specification cortina should I use. If you know the overall length of cable and shoulder to shoulder of the outer or free cable length it would be helpful.

(I was in Partco yesterday for a cylinder head gasket and they asked for the registration number of the car. Not vin or engine number so they must have access to a very clever database.)

I don't believe it!

Made up a spacer, fitted easily, jumped in and tried the clutch. Has anyone got a bullworker. You would need the legs of Mr Universe to operate it. :boohoo:

Down the hole again to remove the pedal box and the lever ratio is 2.7:1. :o I had made the quadrant the same as the sierra one without thinking about the reduced length of the new pedal. Carved up the pedal box to remove the pedal and ground the quadrant off the end of the lever. Remaking it to give 4:1 ratio before trying it again.

I'm going to put a sleeping bag in the footwell I seem to spend so much time down there.

:D YOu're right Sir Chris, I guess I meant tube rather than bar... :D

Don't you hate it when stuff like that happens!!

I fitted a mini heater in my old one, exactly the same as Bob T only to discover he had mini wipers & I had Sierra when I came to put the croc bonnet back on & had to butcher it all again!! :)

Wilwood cylinders are tapped for a 3/8 UNF outlet and a 7/16 UNF inlet

I queried this with Rally Design when I bought their hydraulic handbrake set up.

They claim its because the inlet is gravity fed & needs to be bigger than the outlet which is pressure driven.......sounds plausible to me....

OK, sounds reasonable. Pity cos I've got same size pipe in the same size hole in both inlet and outlet. So now I need to find two bigger holed 7/16 joiners.

But why UNF. And you try to find 7/16 ones except by specialist mail order.

We use a VRM system as well, very usfull apart from looking for french car braking systems :(
