How do I know which messages are new since I last logged in? I'm sure there's an easy way, but I ain't found it yet!

At the bottom of the main page you can use "Mark all topics as read" so that next time you come back it will only highlight new ones. I'm checking the settings though, as I prefer this to be automatic as I read as well... (still learning!)
