So does the Morgan... :D

There are a couple of specialist 2CV breakers around who should be able to get something to you... try to ask my mate where they are, his dad's a 2cv nut...

Shane,. dont forget to look on EBay too,. but if all else fails and you want one from Morgan, I can get it for you and post it on, if its faster than waiting for them to process it. Their factory is next door to where our operational base is.

I have fitted one to my 2b I got fed up with the floor one & did't want to loose the space in the centre console.

It came of a Jag xj6. I used a single short handbrake cable to the underside & made a mechanical linkage

to connect to the existing cable.

I did try a citreon 2cv one but its a very course ratchet.

I also had to modify the Jag handle by turning it about 90deg.

Hope this helps.

Shane,.

Im off tomorrow since my lad's got a rock'n'roll gig tomorrow night and yours faithfully here's got roped in.

Back at work on Wednesday so I'll pop into Morgan for you then and get it priced for you. I'll get them to quote me for the complete assembly ready to fit, plus or minus their cable.

I found one in an old pick up truck, someone had cut it into bits and dumped it, I'm in the process of fitting it at the moment using the same method that Colin used.

The Ford P100 used it as well.

Shane,.

Ive been into Morgan Cars to have a look at the handbrake set up, as promised.

Firstly they dont use an umberella handbrake on any of their models. In fact the earliest model they have there 1934 has the exact same set up as the latest one and its made at the factory to their own design.

Basically it looks like a standard handbrake lever, but its mounted vertically in front of the gearlever, looking much like a second gear lever. It operates on a flying start basis where you just give the lever a short pull instead of depressing the button.

Its not cheap either at £82 plus VAT.

The guy in the stores was very helpful, but said you would really be better to get an assembly off either a Citroen 2CV or Ford P100 pick-up, just as the others suggested. He did also mention to look inside some of the Japanese pick-ups since some are also known to use them.

Mick.

Forgot to mention,.................If I can get into Cradley Heath, where the Lomax factory is,. I'll see Dave there to see if he has any 2CV handbrake assemblies and price one up for you. ( new or s/h)

It may be a few days though before I can do it.
