Fiat Ducato Motorhome Advice Needed Urgently

I have a motorhome with a noisy transmision it started quite suddenly

mechanicaly its a Ducato 2.5td 1990

 

It sounds like a vibration/whine,

It increases in pitch with speed regardless of which gear is engaged

Out of gear it is quiet

On overrun in gear its noisey

But quiet in gear coasting with no power.

 

It has not used a drop of oil in the gear box and the oil is very clean.

 

If I grab the half shafts and give them a rattle they both give at the gearbox end and cv ends.

I can rattle them to make a small tick noise.

 

What are your best guesses?

 

I have four days to fix it or my summer hollidays off.

Sounds like my differential on the hood that run with no oil & burnt the teeth...

it sounds very much like the Diff hope i'm wrong

Sounds like the diff to me too.

Box is out and on the way to a reconditioners.

Thanks to a rhocar member, Scott (Scotts gearboxes Cotgrave) its fixed.

Box is back in and running

It was a bearing failed the gears and diff are ok.
