Yeah, but a pain if u use the car on the road. The system has to be disconnected and purged as well (apparently) otherwise mr policeman will have a bit of fun with you (well, depending on how switched on they are!

Admittedly the likelyhood of anyone noticing is slim, but still!

CJ,

Various publications have stated that NOS is a perfectly legal road tuning solution, as long as your car has one of those small green compressed gas labels ;)

If they really wanted you to do that, don't you think they'd have had a crack down on it by now?

Nitrous is road legal and safe. With a progressive controller on the Nitrous you can inject different quantities at different revs eg 30% at 3000rpm and 100% at 4500rpm. That way it reduces wheelspin and Nitrous consumption.

I'll do it when i've recond the engine and got some £££.

I found this page that calculates the torque needed to get you from 0-60 in a specified time:

http://www.peter-burgess.com/maths.html#

You need to know weight of car in lbs.

For an 800kg car it would take 215lb/ft torque to get you to 60 in 4.99s (theoretically). Just need to calculate what that would be in BHP.

Horsepower = torque(lb/ft) * rpm

--------------------

5252

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Sounds resonable Andy,

And once you've decided on the torque output, all you then need to account for is the drag - the drag coefficient of the 7 type shape is bleedin hooooooj, and some sort of traction enhancing system to get the power down :p

Why do you think that Nitrous is illegal on the road.?? your a fool...

MG cars are selling there new SuperCar with a nitrous option.. for <1000hp

the only disadvantage of using a nitrous systems everyday, is that it costs ££ to refill.

get with it poeple...

Insureers dont like performance modifications to cars, unless they're a specialist in high performance cars..

Does anyone know where I can Insure my new

Koenig prepared Murcielago Twin Turbo ??

at 850hp I dont think my no-claims bonus will help much...
