Rear Sub Frame And Floor!

Hi

having finally getting round to fitting the rear subframe and suspension (on a sub K); on the vid, they push the floor under the frame this seems to put pressure on the rear angle and obviosly bends the floor...

Can i just cut a bit off the back or do i need to push it under?

Hi Bobby,

I gave up fiddling and chopped little triangles out of my floor to make putting it all together easier.

However, looking at the shape the floor now is with everything bolted up, tunnel sides on, seat back panel fixed, etc.; it has nice compound curves, which I suppose give a degree of extra stiffness to the whole sturcture...

So, pushing it under and having a bit of flex in the floor is nothing to worry about IMHO! Mind you, it can be fiddly...

:D

Hi Bobby,

I can't quite grasp what your on about, call my thick. Anyway this is what I did.

I put the floor on the chassis first, then the angle bars, then the saleen deon tube. This caused me real hassle. I cut two little V's out of the floor (as feek did) to get the inner swinging arm brackets passed the floor. When all was complete the floor is no ware near it!

One problem I had was that the rear angle was fouling on the rear sub frame and making it wonky, I had to shorten the angle to make things strait.

Have a look at this pic
