I need to redo the clearances on my engine after rebuilding it. I have got the old pinto escort rs2000 engine with a kent 285 cam in it. Does anyone know what valve clearances i need and do you have any tips?

Standard Pinto valve clearances (cold)

Inlet- 0.008in (0.20mm)

Exhaust- 0.010in (0.25mm)

Do you mean Piper cam 285  as kent cams don't do a 285 cam for the Pinto.

If so its a Ultimate road OHCBP285

Valve clearances for the are the same as above

Or have a look here
