There are no commercial kits available right now, you can make your own.

Rally Design do stock wishbones. They won't be a straight bolt on.

Battery Bill has converted a couple & maybe able to do you a kit if theirs is tried & tested now...

Any conversion will require you to weld some mounting points for the bones on the chassis plus a new steering rack, new hubs etc.

The last one available sold for about £400 quid. That's pricey but if they could supply all the parts or even just bones, brackets & balljoints it would be v good. Not that hard either.

The idea of making a kit has come up, it would all depend on the number of people interested in it, as it is, most people tend to go with their own design and they are all different, we have made a few one offs for people, but it would be nice to develop a kit that is easy to fit and with the right geometry, the only trouble is peoples welding skills but I guess we could offer a fitting service.

if anyone is interested please email me

Richard

I have also developed an upgrade for the standard wish bone suspension, that puts the camber change right, and, has the new style wing bracket built in to it

Hi Richard,

If you make a kit, please incorporate the threaded tube on the top wishbone at

an angle, (pointing up at right angles to the dummy strut) not in line with the wishbone.

Every wishbone Ive seen (including the ones I got from STS/RSJIGTEC)

makes the top balljoint lock up before the wishbones have fully dropped.

I guess this could be solved by using a shorter coilover, but the geometry wouldnt be so good then.

The bottom wishbones are usually correct, but mainly because the balljoints themselves

are fitted into an angled plate which is bolted to the wishbone.

(Peugeot 306 or similar).

I'll take some pics later today to explain.

BTW RS Jigtec were doing a roaring trade with their conversions, but went out of business

before the pent-up demand had been satisfied. I still have a copy of their fitting instructions which

"nearly" worked. I have made a note of the necessary changes.

The only specialised part of the job is welding a flat U shaped bracket onto the round chassis tube.

Any Hoody could set it up with clamps & careful measurements etc

& get a competent mobile welder to finish it off.

Cheers, Bob

hi richard

so the interest is there!

all you have to do is set it up and you have a ready market .

i would think there are alot of pillor 2bs awaiting the upgrade .

a kit with proper instructions hopefully not an rs productions video with a dog running around,

cost dependant!

and with real parts that work .

the problem with selling just the bits to do the job is that many builders are not aware of the geometry required to correctly assemble and end up with a car that dosent go around corners ,or as bob says the suspention locks up.

gbs with its in house experiance should easily be able to achive this

and a happy new year
