We had a beer with the North East 7evens last week. Talking about good local roads and this route came up. sounds like a good blat. Time to start watching the weather forcasts for a mild weekend.

Hi Guys,

It's an extremely interesting destination. We (VMCC ~ Lakeland Section) visited the Samye Ling Buddhist Temple about 4 years ago as part of our "Border Run" up from Carlisle and returning via a circuitous route. No doubt your guide will wish to show you inside the Temple. Firstly you will need to remove your footwear and then be prepared to be astonished at the amount of creative artwork and its religious significance that you will see. In all it's quite a humbling experience.

If you are taking lunch there, then be prepared for simple, plentiful, spotlessly hygienic vegetarian food and very friendly people.

Thanks for that Quantox. You make it sound well worth a visit. Anyone else interested in coming along? I suppose they make an excellent yak butter tea?
