HI ALL AM LOOKING TO PUT A ZETEC IN PLACE OFF MY PINTO ANY HELP AND ADVICE WOULD BE GOOD THANKS STIRLING

Well the zetec block is about the same width, the head is a tiny bit wider than a pinto.. and over hangs the block by 5mm or so at the back..so getting the engine/gearbox as far forward as possible is a must.

The other obstacle is the inlet manifold, which is obstructed by the pedal box and brake servo. Easiest way to go is with floor mounted pedals.!

The choice is yours. :) I'm going down the same route over the next few months, or as soon as I secure a nice engine..!

Another idea is to use the V6 type9 gearbox, which has a longer input shaft(32mm ish) and space the bellhousing out with some alloy spacers 32mm thick , to push the engine forwards and gain some clearance..
