Hi all

 

I am having great diffculty getting hold of a 2l pinto donor vehicle, i have had my kit for 6 weeks and can not find one anywhere in my local area (Huddersfield, near Leeds) If any one has any ideas where i might be able to get one from it would be much appreciated, i am willing to travel

I know this is no help but...

 

I had the same trouble :boohoo: I wanted a 2L injection on a F but ended up with a A reg with a carb with 185k mile :boohoo:

Have you tried advertising in your local Supermarkets?

We put up one advert in Safeway saying we want an MOT failure, must be good runner etc and had about 3 calls about donors we got our 2 ltr injection for £70.

Worth a try.

I advertised on the free board in my local Somerfield store. I got offers of three 1.6L sierras but after a couple of weeks was offered an A reg 2L ghia for £50. I was getting desperate so I bought it.

The week after that i was ringing around car acessory shops trying to find some new engine mount rubbers ( expensive and special order ) When the guy in the shop said he was selling an E reg 2 litre injection auto sierra with good mounts and wanted £25 for the whole car.

I now have spares for everything but the gearbox.

Persevere and several will turn up at once.

I just stuck a wanted add in the Loot specifying exactly what I wanted and that cash was wating for the right vehicle.

Ended up with a 1988 2L Sapphire, taxed and MOT'd with a 10000 mile-old recon engine for £50.

Did even consider selling it on as it was too good to hack to bits and scrap...
