Sump

As I see it if you've shortened the sump but put the extra bit on the side - the oil level on the dipstick should remain the same.

If it hits the bottom of your shortened sump before it goes fully home then take a bit off the bottom of the stick.

If you have followed the instructions on the RHOCAR website, you should not need to shorten it. As Terry has said if it hits the bottom before it is fully in, then trim a bit of the bottom.

Do not fill past the original marks on the dipstick or move them up the stick if you have taken a bit off the bottom. You'll get into a whole heap of trouble. Something to do with piston slap.......I think

If you are worried about the capacity of oil you now have you can always fit an oil cooler. This will increase the capacity by a little but allow for additional cooling on hot days.
