Twin 40 Dellortos

I have at last managed to secure a pair of twin 40 Dellortos for my Exmo.

Before I start to have a look at fitting them has anyone else fitted these to an Exmo and do I have to chop the bonnet or chassis around to get them in?

I would appreciate any info.

40's and 45's fit if you use a 3/4 inch manifold which is realy just a machined aluminium plate and still allows you to use a short trumpet. (make sure the manifold is drilled for the water outlet between 2/3 inlets and a vac point for the servo if needed) A longer manifold puts the front carb very close to the side rail. A swan neck manifold would be ideal to lift the carbs above the rail but I don't know anyone making them.

Other things to do are fit an oil catch tank, and make sure you have an ignition system that will work OK without vacuum advance. Bosch inductive pre 85 2L sierra is ideal.
