Tyre Repair

Joel

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how much it costs to get a tyre repaired, compared to the 40 or so quid for a cheap-ish new one?

I've got a nasty big nail in an other wise good tyre on my tin top, and I need to get it sorted before MOT in the next few days.

Cheers.

Kwik fit did one for me for the mondeo tintop on sunday. £14.95 balanced.

I trust them because of the nature of the stupid alloys on the mondeo, you cant fit weights to the outside rim, just stick them on the inner.

Couple of cheaper garages have tried to static balance them in the past, and i end up going to kwik fit to have it sorted properly.

Not the cheapest admitedly but they use good equipment and and give great service.

No I dont work for them.......

1st one £6.95 then the next free at my local tyre shop(i get all my tyres from them), if the nail is in the tread you should be ok, if it's near or in the side wall- new tyre

Local college - join the 'Car Maintenance' evening class

Access to tyre changing / balancing equipment + ramps and all the tools and diagnotic equipment known to man :D :D

+ acces to welding / metal fabrication as well!

Most tyre balancing machines are capable of being set up to have the outer weights inside the spokes on alloys and balance them dynamicly if you know how.
