Am using Bosch dizzy, ripped out points and fitted Aldon internals. Without a ballast resister fitted will need coil with high resistance. Can anybody point me in the right direction...make, model or part number

You just need a 3 OHM coil. You can measure it with a meter. From memory just set to ohm's & measure resistance between the + & - terminals.

 

The Aldon Flamethrower is the "posh" dizzy of this spec but there are several others. When I upgraded my first car the Points coil was a 3 ohm one (just a motorcraft or similar).
