I'm surprised there are people out there that don't know what ROFL means

" Three wheels on my wagon but I'm still rollin' along

Those Cherokees ................."

Anyone see the thing on the local news a few weeks ago about the Yorkshire guy who got 3 points and a fine for having an unroadworthy car. - The thing that was un roadworthy was that the screen wash reservoir was empty! The cops let him off and issued an apology when his story got on the news!

Yes but did you read the report fully? The car was parked legally at the side of the road in front of his house, and he was sat watching TV, when Mr Plod knocked on his door and wanted to check his car, they then went through it with a fine-toothed comb, but the only thing that they could get him on was the screen wash. (Which wasn't an offence anyway as the car wasn't moving)

It seems that the local BIB's were having a purge on 'older' cars, his was a 'J' reg Cavalier.

Another bit of good relations from the 'Authorities'

Shame our BIBs havent got anything better to do than chase number plates. the thing that realy annoys me is its our money as upstanding tax paying citizens, that pays for the service of percicution and harassment. funny the BIBs dont like being reminded of the fact that they are there to help and as we pay thier wages does that make all us tax payers their employers???

Unfortuantly I have to agree with Bill this time :p :D

I have met some real characters :D (I wrote the true stories in another thread) but I have met and heard of some real AR** *&^ES

If the above story is true then the guy should make an offical complaint...but is there something we are not being told I wonder?

Nothing exciting...

2 eurobox-types (Nissan and Daewoo) for commuting...

Ford Bronco LHD 4wd 4.9ltr which is in storage, insurance want €2200, b@ll@cks to that - I only want to use every now and then. :gdit:

My plans for building a kit car got put on hold when redundancy loomed, and now I'm in a situation to start looking again - I moved to Ireland where you get shafted on insurance if you drive anything which isn't "normal"

Shame really as I'm itching to have a go, but can't justify spending more on insurance than the car's cost/value. I just day dream (LOTS) by reading all the new posts everyday on this forum.

hi all

had this sent to me today, may be of some use to you all, it will be to me!

> The new electronic signs on the M6 were switched on this Tuesday. The bad

> news is that they are rigged with the SPECS speed cameras. This probably

> applies to all the new signs being installed on the M62, M60 and M56.

SPECS

> is a computer-camera based system.

>

> As you go past the sign a digital camera reads your number plate. When you

> go past the next sign your number plate is read again. The computer

'knows'

> how far apart the signs are so it can work out your average speed between

> the two, or three or four.

>

> The system is fully automatic and will issue a ticket without any form of

> human intervention. It does this for every single vehicle that passes. You

> will not know you have been caught as the cameras don't flash. They work

> 24/7, 365 days a year, and theoretically, there's absolutely no limit on

> the number of tickets that the system can issue.

>

>

> The whole section of the M6 between Knutsford and Preston is wired, both

> ways. The system is set to trigger a ticket at 78MPH. (Don't take this as

a

> guarantee)Radar detectors will be of no use as SPECS is entirely passive,

> there is no laser beam to detect.

>

> Be warned and spread the news!

cheers ant... :boohoo:
