Ok,

Story goes as follows, always wanted a kit car.. and had bikes :) now i have won a kit car off ebay ( then just had to explain to the wife what i had done lol)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Turns out its not a 2b, it appears to be a Mark 2 or 3? chassis appears to be stainless monocoque? any help would be appreciated.

It has inboard shock absorbers, and rear suspension from a sierra including springs.

he description unfinished is definately true, but more like finished in a hurry, and needs most parts refitting.

What i need to find firstly is a steering bearing for the bulkhead, to suit the triangle drive from the steering shaft from wheel, and pointers to suppliers would be great.

As for the IVA testing, there is a lot to do, sharp edges nut covers, and electrics. The car was put together with a rough SVA in mind i think, from 10 years back. So to get todays standards will need some additonal lights etc.

I am not going to use wipers or screens yet, but later on a deflector type aeroscreen.

Exhaust will be done by a company i am a partner in, and will be temporarily 90db and IVA compliant :)

The seats i think i will change for some more race inspired seats, but i will negotiate with the wife over that feature.

If i treat IVA preparation as MOT preparation, and for example race scrutinering, i should be almost there.

Any work it requires will be inhouse ( i deal with fast road and modifications - specialise in engine management) also do MIG, TIG of alloy and stainless.

As for any advise on topics of standalone ecu ie DTA ecu's, Nitrous installations 25-150bhp, and hand built exhausts please feel free to ask!

Many thanks

Steve.

Hi Chris,

I did look on there fella, and im torn between version 2 and 3, as the front end looks similar.. But maybe the rear construction is the clue.?

I am awaiting documents in the post as the gentleman who sold it has just moved house. When he locates them, he will send them..Which should also let me register without a Q plate.

For now, i have to find a solution to the slack steering, by means of a bearing instead of a bush. I did see a post on a build blog today, i will see if i can find it again.

Hi Steve , the bearing you want is 1off SB205 and its housing 2 off PFL 205, that should sort you out.

Mike

Excellent !

I assume i can get these from a regular bearing shop? or local parts supplier.. i will get some ordered.

Seems at the moment, the more i find solutions to the problems, the more problems i find needing solutions :)

Thanks for the assistance!

Your local bearing supplier should be able to order them for you, plus they can be found on line too if you google the numbers.

Here they are

25mm insert should suffice, looks like i have a job for tommorow :)

Next is a steering rack that doesnt have such a low ratio.. but all in time !

Thanks again.

Stainless monocoque, inboard shocks and Sierra rear - sounds like an S7.

Yep its a Mk1 Sierra 7. Mk 2's had a different front subframe assembly.

Somewhere I have a pdf of the build manual which I scanned in when I owned Peter's car (pwlcarz) above. If you need it give me a shout. It was posted on here at one point I think, big file though.

Thanks & good luck
