Round Britain Run For Charity

Ok so start at Detling then maybe a local member can take to chatham docks pass on to someone to do london sights ( the eye?) and carry on in this manor working our way round the counties, I can do leicester space centre picking up from either a northants or another adjoining county. I each of us who wants to get involved was to contact the place of interest and see if we can get there support as well as the local bbc radio. most counties have a few places of interest so if one does not want to support another will. Like the travel log/ passport idea Ian, could get it stamped or signed by each place of interest. think the way forward from here is to see if we can cover all county's.

One way we could do it is against the Counties. There are 70 in my list and each person can choose one plus how about a group day out in London during the Summer?

 

I will leave Kent and bag Surrey instead. Poor old Hoodie is going to visit a poker night, a school, Top Gear and the Downs before heading onto the next location

gdc just concentrate on getting your idea to fly and less about what the committe are doing, like ian said lots of events are organised without the comittee and they havent said they wont do anything. good luck wiv it though.

Hi Guys

The response and ideas is way above the reponse that I thought we would get when Graham (GDC) and I (Qwerty) first thought this up ,as I said it was born from the guys that toured the Scotish breweries last year thank you. I plan to get a map of the UK and pin locations on it. Many thanks to Phill Shelton and KnockOn for the listing all the major towns/cities. I agree with Ian Marr that the round the UK would be harder to set up. Most cities and town,s have a place of historical significance so the bear can be pictured at these places.

How does this sound we split it down into areas and then the area sec or member takes on the mantle of co-ordinator.( it doesn,t have to be the area sec as they also have lives and probably have a job) find a place of interest and that is the handover point. Lets try to make it so that area ,s overlap as best we can.

I have read lots of good threads on this but also some not so nice things as said before find out about the person before you write. If any thing I have said has upset or offended anyone and if being a friend of a fellow hoodie is a crime then I appolagies and will gladly back off but I and I alone choose my friends. LETS DO THIS GUYS

please all note i have no problem with the committee i think they do a sterling job , and a job i couldnt do .

Couple of places in Melton may be worth a visit.. Ye Olde Pork Pie Shop.. for several; pies that is.

 

Also there is a car meet in Ashby Folville the bear could be seen with a few exotic cars. Perhaps collect some donations there
