Bike Carb Help

Hi all need some help with setting up my fireblade bike carbs. I have 1.8 pinto with standard mechanical pump which seems to be overfueling the carbs and leaking like a goodun. The original demo zero had this set up and was running fine any suggestions? I know alot of people use different pumps but was trying to get away with it. Is balancing them something i can do easily also it isnt idling and just cuts out where can i adjust this? alot of questions i know thanks james

Hi the mechanical pump has too much PSI, a bike electric fuel pump at 2-3 PSI is what you need, you can use your mechnical one but have to buy a facet pressure regulator which will be dearer than the £30/£40 that of a bike pump.

As other people comment you will get better and more detailed advice.

james you can do nothing untill you stop the leaking, remove the carbs and clean the float level needles and set the float levels.

the standard mech pump may be ok.

My blade carbs are set up using a facet silver top fuel pump and filterking reg set at 2psi, re the leaks have you used the correct feed pipe to the carbs i,e the bottom one the top is a vent, its a mistake that some have made

Yep I use a Filter King set at 1.5 psi and have no leaking problems but I certainly did when it was a neat pump with no control on pressure.
