Which one was that??? Kitcar is £4.50 and has a few reader build articles and IVA pointers etc.

Keeps me going on and off for a few weeks and can be a useful refence point for suppliers when I need something I hadn't thought of

Cheers

John

the problem i have is the number of repeated pages month after month, kitcar recently did iva section 3 times in 3 months then had the same section repeated as a tech talk feature further in the mag! if you take out the repeats (and repeated adverts) it would be 10 pages long.

Also while i'm ranting, why print small font in black over light grey with diagonal lines running across it. nearly went blind reading that page. (add your own innuendo here).

Rant over.....

I've got a subsription to Complete Kit Car mag and I have to say I think the content is pretty good, and good value too at £40 per year - less than a tank of fuel! Fair enough, some of the articles are a bit light on detail, but at least it's all fresh, and whilst there are adverts there you don't feel like you're turning page after page to find the real content. Plus in the last few months I've had a free mug, free calender, free Sevens DVD, free guide to track days......

Perfect reading material when you're on the throne B)

I bought one the other day, can't remember which one but about £4.50, after reading it I almost took it back to WHSmith to ask for a refund.

Apart from the adverts which you expect, the mag had some new kitcars they had features on, one of which I've been looking at for a while. On closer reading all the features were related to turnkey replicas. Not one of the 5-6 pages were rleated to kitcars, all turnkey. On top of this they had an articel about some guys favorite blues band!!!

Was not happy and as such will not be buying kitcar mags again (just borrowing them from Bone ;) seeing as he's got a subscription)

I've been thinking much the same about Kitcar magazine, especially as they have the nerve to have a go at (unfairly in my opinion) a much better magazine in Complete Kit Car, who also happen to give away freebies etc.

Complete Kit Car gets my vote and my subscription. I always end up regretting/feeling cheated buying Kitcar.

We have subscribed to Clasic Ford Ford for several years now and always look forward to its arrival as it is packed full of old /new and fantastic restoration upgrade articles which make youthink about your own cars.

Took out a £30 subscription to Complete Kit Car at Newark 2 years ago and was heartily disappointed with the output, for a starter they featured some buffoon who had bought a decent Jago which he was cannibalising for escort parts ( some logic there- destroy a kit tobuld a kit ;) ??) after a few issues which were starting to look the same I totted up the number of pages of ads, adverts for the magazine, adverts forthe next show, lists of clubs freely available on the web and puffed adverts featured as articles - "Today we visite total head turners blah blah blah" and it seemed like I was not getting much for my money.

I complained and in a spirit of fairness suggested various ways in which I thought the mag could be improved and suggested they take a look at CF which goes for similar price, they replied by offering me my money back :D :D :D and said they had taken the comments on board.

Foolishly I challenged them to keep sending the mag and show me the improvements, I didn't bother renewing, should have taken the cash back.

You can see why the copies in W H Smiths are so well thumbed- 4 minutes and a quick flick through is enough

To much advertising and not enough content about kit car projects to justify the expense. As mentioned, probably worth buying 2 per year.
