Is anyone going to Detling on the Sunday????

Not sure if people are aware of a company called 7 Indulgence who are putting on an open morning on Sunday 4th April, bacon butties, coffee, a chance for some owners to be able to get their cars up on the ramps for a quick looksee before running over to the Showground.

7 Indulgence are located in Meopham, Kent TN15 7LH and are the specialists in Kent for performance, kit, classic and track car servicing (according to their website!).

Currently there are about 30 kits from the Southern Kit Car club meeting there at about 9.30am on the Sunday and after our bacon butties were off en mass for a blat down to the show ground, imagine the atmosphere when a whole string of 30 or more cars turn up together at the site.

As far as 'Hoods' are concerned I seem to have been a bit outnumbered on some of the recent SKC's run outs, there seems to be a swing towards 'Tiger's' in the South here so it would be really good if we could get a large gathering of Hoods at 7 Indulgence first.

Just turn up on the day or preferably let me know so we can guage a few numbers, further details about the meet are here

So far the list is;

1. me

2. Rob E

Are you planning to join me and Rob at 7 Indulgence first?? - maybe make it 3 Zero's?

Hi Pierre,

Welcome to the site....

There is plenty of tea/coffee & the usual takeaway stalls, plus a small cafe in the show buildings.

But it is only the usual British food.... :D

The show takes place in two large halls, with car manufacturers and supporting suppliers inside, and also has many temporary stalls outside for spares, and tools.

The various clubs have pre-booked areas on a large concrete and grass area where club members cars are parked. RHOCAR usually mange a good turnout of around 30 cars, so you can have a good look at all of them.

Please do come along and quiz anyone standing near the cars, we're all happy to talk about them, some just wont stop.. :D

Hi

We are going down on saturday to set up with caravan and will be putting up the big awning, this is so that there is somewhere to sit in the evenings for those mad enough to be camping over, Steve has even bought a heater to keep us warm!

I will get some tea and coffee supplies to have during the day for those that don't want to pay huge show rates but you might have to brew up yourself.

Looking forward to the first show of the season and meeting everyone both new and old.

Shame it's on Easter Sunday. Can't get the day off, SHMBO has her brother and our son round for eggs!

It sounds a long way round from Basingstoke and would make a full day out on its own.

I  my :rhsc:

ok guys, for those meeting the group at 7 Indulgence and want to join a small possy of 7's heading up there, then a group of 5 of us will be meeting at Uckfield and leaving at about 8am Sunday morning, I have a route that takes about an hour and a quater and takes us up through Sharpthorne, Turners Hill, accross to Edenbridge and up the the East of Sevenoaks and up to Indulgence for about 9.30ish.

If anybody else wants to join us at Uckfield (Little Chef car park where the A26 and A22 cross) or en route then let us know so we expect you or can arrange a meeting place en route.

See you Sunday - looking forward to this come rain or shine (preferably the latter)

FINAL NOTE:

1/ there are a few potholes at the very beginning of the lane that leads to Indulgence from the main A227. They are ALL avoidable, and are only in the 1st 200 yards, so dont be put off!

2/ The units where they are are part of a farm, the parking / courtyards are proper tarmac / concrete - again no issues - BUT please be ware that there is stabling there. Please give consideration, bo unnecessary blipping of the loud pedal. Let's not give the guy who owns the farm any issues to moan about !!!

Like others have said in the other thread, the show itself was unfortunatley poor, however the run to Indulgence first was fantastic and also from Indulgence to the show was great too.

We had a few Robin Hoods with us, mine and Rob's Zero which made up more than 30 cars parked up on the Southern Kit Car stand.

I wandered over to the Rhocar stand and saw Scottie's and Marcus's Zero's but unfortunatley missed you them in person.

Lets hope the next show is warmer and better turned out!

I hereby nominate the Tiger gang as honorary members of the PHUKAWE tribe....dashing off to the right at a set of lights just as they changed...when Gerty Garmin firmly stated go straight on...

Still, I obediently followed the convoy, ended in in Maidstone High Street without seeing anyone else, then realised I had my own convoy following me!!!

Doesnt bode well for France on the 17th... :D

So I trusted Gerty & set off back in the other direction & eventually got back to the show....but I was disappointed with the turnout of traders & bits stalls...I couldnt even get a new hooter....

But it was good to see most of us had survived the winter.

Sadly some must have been left outside in the damp & grown some kind of chin mould.... :D :D :D
