Hi all,

 

I've machined myself a front grille from 4mm carbon fibre plate for my Zero build and am pleasantly

surprised with how it's turned out. (Makes a change from some of my hare brained ideas anyway!lol.)

 

Anyway, my reason for posting is this:-

 

Do you think there's a market for these if i decided to make them for others?

Obviously you could have anything written in it or just plain, Shaft isn't mandatory! lol.

 

Size isn't too much of an issue, but i'd need plenty of notice to turn one around due to machine

loading being manic at the best of times. Just testing the water at the minute.

I like that, really nice, only change I'd make would be to make the outer border wider so it could be fixed to the front of the nose cone to cover the edges of the cut out.

err......... do you want the honest answer or a made up one??

 

Honest answer is, there is a 15mm wide border around it! But, look at the shape of the nose cone moulding where it recesses

into the cutout area, its tapered yes? I machined a perfect match to it, but i got it arse about face and the lettering is upside down if i fit it in the front!! pmsl.

You weren't supposed too notice that!

I Second John - I'd have one with Zero on it (but obviously taking in Steve's comment about fitting to the outside ).

 

But for my two penn'orth I reckon the Z should be in a kind of 'Zorro' flourish, so some simple drawing examples would be good as I am not sure that Times New Roman would have the desired effect! Lol

I was thinking £30 inc P&P.

Does that seem fair to people?

 

Biggest problem i have though is sneaking them in at work

They take around 2 hours to machine, 8 ply carbon fibre with a

syncore centre to resist vibration fatigue. No cheap s##t black

glass fakery here like some companys i won't mention, lol.

God, i'm swamped! lol. thats 7 of you that want them.

I have only got enough plate too make 8 at the minute, so unfortunately

i can only take one more order.

 

This has too be first come first served i'm afraid, so if you want one let me know asap.

 

Knock-on & Doctor fox, i havn't a clue what shape or size the 2B nosecone is, so if you could both

do me a scale, paper template of the shape and size you need, i can work from that.

Please also spell and position how you would like your lettering too be.

(other option is i leave the external profile rectangular and oversize for you too trim yourselves?)

You sure can Marcus, how do you want the text to be positioned and i assume it's for a Zero?

 

Also, to all..

John (gixerboy600) as said he can wait until i have more material, so i still

have enough plate for one more, including Marcus above.
