If I'm reading this right, I can come along in the tintop, park and come and have a look at the cars and talk to people but not have to pay as I won't go into the hall? Is this right as I may only be passing by and don't want to pay that much for a couple of hours...

well organised again.

So we have to sort out our own parking area so as to keep 'tin tops' in a public area and avoid the chaos of the first year when all the tin tops and the kit cars were mixed up.

Then if we want to go in the hall we have to pay for both days.

I suspect that most kit car owners who intend to camp will do as i will IE only go round the hall on one day. After all it don't take more than an hour to look round the hall in any event.

I am sure this policy will put at risk the future of the show as the exhibitors wont get as many people in the hall as possible on both days. Also anyone with a stall in the hall will loose income as like myself i often buy something on the second day which i forgot on the first day. I wont be paying twice just to go back in to see if something takes my fancy.

The exhibitors will revolt and without them and the kit car owners there will be no show at all.

On the face of it to charge each day seems reasonable but it does not take account of the fact that many owners camp and this brings more cars to the show for the weekend and its the display of many cars that makes the show interesting for the public.

DT's intended policy wont in my opinion bring in any extra revenue for him and as i say above may result in the show being of less interest to exhibitors and kit car owners alike.

i will be there on Friday evening to Sunday in any event, happy to pay my £10 for Saturday, but just wont be in the hall on Sunday unless can get in for free.

Come on Dan think again we all want your show to be a continued success.

I agree entirely! I wont be contributing to the Den Tanner wallet.

People spend a lot of time preparing their cars and on fuel getting there so I think there should be free entry for kit car drivers and serious discounts for their passengers.

We had planned to drive up on Saturday morning and camp over but the tent will go back in the shed and we will spend at least part of the weekend out in the car and save the money for a meal out afterwards.

If this is the way things are going this man's greed will be his undoing. I stopped buying his magazine some time ago as well.

Its been £10 a day for non kit drivers, passengers and family to enter the hall for the past couple of years, kit drivers got a free pass at the gate and campers got a pass for paying to camp, we also managed to blag some extras to give out to members where possible.

This year the camping is free, and nobody knows yet whether there will be passes on the gate for kit drivers until the first people arrive tomorrow and report back - don't forget about the sudden change of plan to charge £25 to camp last year.

I say come along, camp and socialise with the rest of the club, this is the last time a lot of us will see each other until next May, it'll cost you nothing and if you really want to go into the halls bite the bullet and pay up. If you have a shopping list a few of you could group together and send a 'personal shopper' in and save on entry money that way.

If we all start to boycott the shows, it's not only Den who suffers, if there are no clubs displaying the public will stay away, if the public stay away the kit companies do not do any business, if the companies don't do any business they go bust and soon we have no kit car industry left.

Value for money? Well I had the pleasure of paying £5.10 for 21 minutes rail travel the other day, a sandwich can cost you £3.00 and last for 5 mins - a baguette at the shows cost a fiver, £10 to get into the hall can last you five minutes if you're just nipping in for a specific item or it can last you all day if you want it to.

Any body arriving Friday afternoon and evening can usually have a wander round the halls while they are setting up, because nobody really takes any notice of who is going in and out that night.

It's one or the other by the sounds of it. 25 quid to camp and free halls or free camp and a tenner 4 the halls. Iam for the tenner!

I have quite a few family members that like this show as it's free to come and have a look around the cars.

As has been said before it's a great knees up for the last campin etc show. See u all there!!!
