The Shaft Mobile As Been On The Dyno...

Shaft

Recommended Posts

Evening all, :hi:

Well then, what a cracking day me and the Zero have had at Torque Tune today.

The final result was 124 BHP at the wheels @ 5500RPM which according to Russ the Dyno dude

works out at 155BHP at the Flywheel.

For whats basically an old Tranny engine i'm a very happy bunny!

Took it for a blast up the private road afterwards as well. Can only think of one thing to say....

O.M.G!!!

Can't believe the acceleration and it seems to want to stand on its nose if you hit the brakes hard. :D

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Just waiting for a date from VOSA for the IVA, then she's done.

Thanks to all who have helped me over the last 10 months of building. :drinks:

Nick.

Please excuse the sound on the vid, i took it on my phone.

Thats great Nick, looks really good. Can I ask what the spec of your Pinto is and what have you done to it?

Cheers

Spencer

Hi Spencer,

Spec is:

2.0L Pinto,

CBR900 bike carbs on a Boggs manifold,

Pipercross filter

Megajolt MAP ignition,

FR32 cam & Vernier pulley,

Injection head match ported to the manifolds and flowed.

Felpro head gasket

4 into 1 headers,

lightened and balanced flywheel.

High pressure Burton oil pump.

Remote breather / oil catch tank fed from Rocker and PCV valve

HTH,

Thanks Nick. Thats interesting. Which bits do you think give you the power you got on the rolling road?

My spec is as follows:

2.0 Pinto on a leaded head.

Twin Weber 40's (rebuilt and matched to engine)

Aldon 104FPY Performance Distributor.

Pipercoss Filter

Standard cam & Vernier adjustable Pulley

4 into 1 header then into Custom Chrome freeflow exhaust

Headers camcoated with Cermakrome

Reground flywheel with ARP pro bolts.

High pressure Burton Cosworth pump

Oil catch tank breather system.

New water pump, tensioner, belts, spray bar, gaskets, all new bolts etc.

Hopefully mine will give a good BHP as well. I probably need the FR32 cam and the gasflowed head to match your BHP.

Cheers

Spencer

Sounds awsome!!!

Got mine Dyno'd, 163BHP at wheels, was 137 on first run and I pulled out dump valve, use integral waste gate instead...

Does not sound anyway as nice as yours and my wiring loom's got a mind of it's own at the mo!

See you soon Nick

to give you an idea my engine was set up at torque tune also 1st visit with bike carbs injected head and standard cam it chucked out 104bhp at the wheels on the 2nd visit with the addition of a felpro head gasket and an fr32 cam it came out at 124bhp at the wheels the differance on the road is amazing over the standard engine

mine is a similar set up to nick execpt i used a gbs manifold and bestek ignition

hope that helps
