Wheres The Cheapest Place To Get A Cam Belt Tensioner Pulley?

Hi as per title i need to new cam belt pulley tensioner for my 1.6 pinto as the bearings sound terrible.

I phoned my local autofactors who normally are fantastic but they could only get a 'kit' which consisted of the pulley and a belt (which i don't need as i replaced that <4000miles ago) quoted £120 !!!!!!!!

Had a quick look on ebay and they have them for about £25-30 but that still seems expensive to me (although not compared to the above) anyone know of a cheaper source.

thanks

I think the man who wants 120 quid for acam belt kit needs to get his head out of his a--e 25/35 quid any where !!!!,not just ebay don't get too fooled with the prices alot of the people selling those sort of bits are motor factors off loading stock! . Only thing Iv'e just thought did he give you a price for Zetec or Duratec kit? as a lot of places don't under stand about older engines and mix things up cos it says Ford 1600/2litre etc and often do not have acastlogue with Pinto listings. bye for now mower man :good: ps some of the kids werenot even born when the Pinto was replaced by the nwer engines

£120 for a timing belt kit is a rip off, we sell Dayco KTB166 which I think is listing for 1.6 pinto sells to the factors for less than £20.

You can't get the tensioner only but if you messing with your timing belt it's best to change it,

Thats the unusual thing these motorfactors are old school and normally have good prices and knowledge. I'm just wondering whether maybe they did misunderstand what i was after?! the engine was definitely right as i said a pinto from a h reg sierra and they are used to me getting parts for it as they know me and the car, adn i remember saying how i didn't need the 'kit' as my cam belt is virtually new.

oh well ebay it is. i just normally try and buy local if the prices are reasonable.

thanks all
