V5 Document

Hi There,

I am brand new to the community (and kit cars) and looking for some help.

I have bought an unfinished 2B superspec, but without a V5. The donor parts are from a 1990/91 Sierra, 2.0l Pinto engine, drive train etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You don't need a V5 to build or register but you will end up with a Q plate.

If you are looking for a V5 for the donor, then you can apply on the DVLA, just make sure that it is not scrapped etc, but seach on google for V5 application and it will come up (V5C).

 

If you are trying to get a V5 for the kit car you first need to get the car IVA tested with VOSA (see section on the forum), and a visual inspection for the DVLA, and then you can apply for the V5 and registration details from there. The IVA is a test to make sure the vehicle is safe and built to a good quality, the test costs around £500, and about £90 for a retest should you fail in the first instance.

No you will end up with an age related plate which can be changed
