I have noticed my yellow ratchet and pawl has a tooth missing should I replace it with the yellow or go up or down a size ?

What does the chage in size do ?

Regards Stuart.

If you have a tooth missing then replace it. If the clutch pedal travel is OK for you and your driving position and the clutch disengages well then replace with similar. If you are having problems then by all means change it.

By increasing the diameter of the pawl, the amount of pedal travel to disenage the clutch is altered ( shortened) . Mine has lengthened pedals therefore you have to push further to achieve the same length of travel on the cable as the original pedals. Obviously a

smaller pawl will increase the distance you have to push.

If it works well, then stick with the yellow one, I got mine from the local ford parts dealer and not too expensive a fix.
